   Find the Havaş coach bay outside Arrivals

   Exit Arrivals and turn right. The Havaş coach bay is signed at the far end of the terminal forecourt, about a 2-minute walk. Coaches head to Çeşme via the Alaçatı junction roughly every 30 to 60 minutes.

   Pay the driver and ask for "Alaçatı sapağı"

   Board and pay by card or cash. It costs around ₺320 per person. Tell the driver "Alaçatı sapağı" so they know your stop. Put large bags in the hold under the coach.

   Get off at the Alaçatı junction (about 1 hr 45 in)

   This stop is on the main road at the edge of town. It is not the village centre itself. You will not be dropped at your hotel door.

   Take a short local taxi the last ~10 minutes

   Taxis wait at the junction for arriving coaches. Ask the driver to start the meter, or agree a price before you get in. The ride into the stone town centre is short.

   Buy an İzmirim Kart and load at least 125 TL

   Look for the blue İzmirim Kart machine at the airport İZBAN station. The physical card costs 200 TL, or is free through the Digital İzmirim Kart app. Each traveler needs their own card. İZBAN blocks money for the longest possible journey when you tap in at the airport, so load at least 125 TL before you travel.

   Take İZBAN into the city

   Head down to the İZBAN platform beneath Arrivals and take the train toward Alsancak or Basmane. This is the first of 3 legs, so keep your bags light: there are stairs at some stations and no direct connection onward from here.

   Change at the city Otogar

   İZBAN does not go straight to the Otogar, so tap out at your stop and take a Metro or Eshot connection to reach it. Budget extra time for this change, especially with luggage.

   Find the peninsula minibus (dolmuş) toward Alaçatı

   Inside the Otogar, look for the minibus stands serving the Çeşme peninsula and ask for one heading toward Alaçatı. The fare is 90 TL per person, paid onboard. These minibuses have little luggage space, so this leg is much easier with a small bag than a large suitcase.

   Ride to Alaçatı and get off in town

   The minibus takes you across the peninsula into Alaçatı. Total journey time for all 3 legs is 3 hours or more. This route only runs well in daylight, so plan to travel in the morning or afternoon, not after dark.

Couples and small groups on a budget usually take the Havaş coach plus a short local taxi at the junction — cheapest, and the extra taxi leg is brief. The İZBAN-plus-minibus route is the cheapest on paper but only realistic in daylight with light bags. If you're arriving after the last coach, or want one direct leg, a metered taxi or pre-booked transfer covers it — the transfer especially removes the late-night risk.
